I found songwriting long before I understood why I needed it. Growing up in a chaotic and unconventional environment, music became a place to hold emotions I wouldn’t fully understand until much later in life. Looking back, I realize it was more than an outlet—it was a way of making sense of the world. I’ve come to believe that the role of an artist is to harmonize order from chaos, finding meaning in life’s contradictions and giving shape to experiences that are often difficult to put into words.
My journey eventually brought me to Los Angeles, where I performed and collaborated with inspiring musicians in the creative community. Along the way I co-wrote with Jeff Silbar (Wind Beneath My Wings) and recorded with remarkable musicians including Steve Bartek (Oingo Boingo), Doane Perry (Jethro Tull), and Scott Thurston (Tom Petty). Over time, those experiences clarified something essential: an artist’s most important work is not following someone else’s vision but discovering and trusting their own.
Today I embrace the freedom to create and share my work directly with the world. That freedom allows me to focus on what matters most—writing honest songs, creating visual stories, and continuing the lifelong pursuit of meaning through art. Every song, recording, and film I create is an attempt to harmonize order from chaos—and to share that journey with anyone who might recognize something of themselves in it. Thanks for listening to my music. I hope you enjoy it. Lisa Paschall
